Study at RTS Pastoral Course

The Application Process for the RTS Pastoral Course takes place every two years and includes the evaluation of the listed requirements along with two additional admission stages. Meeting these requirements is crucial to ensure the academic and ministerial excellence of the program.

1. Requirements

  • Men with permanent or temporary residence in the city of São Paulo to attend in-person classes and regularly engage in the activities of Redemption Baptist Church. Note: RTS is not responsible for housing, food, or transportation costs for enrolled students.
  • Men who are at least 18 years old and have completed high school (either through institutionalized education or verified homeschooling).
  • Men who meet the biblical qualifications for pastoral ministry. Students must maintain these qualifications throughout the training in order to graduate (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:4-9).
  • Men with a personal laptop or computer, a stable internet connection (at home, for assignments and online activities), and access to Microsoft Office (Word and PowerPoint) and Google Suite tools for academic assignments.
  • Desirable requirement: Good reading comprehension in English.
  • Highly desirable requirements: Good listening comprehension in English (ability to understand sermons in English) and advanced conversational skills in English (for interaction with English-speaking professors).

2. First Stage: Applicant Qualifications

All documents listed below will be sent to the applicant via email or WhatsApp after initial contact with the RTS administration.

  • Biblical qualification form for pastoral ministry.
  • Signed statement of full acceptance of the Redemption Baptist Church Statement of Faith.
  • Letter of Recommendation from the applicant’s pastor or church leader. Note: If the applicant comes from a background that does not align with Redemption Baptist Church’s doctrinal stance, exceptions may be granted by the RTS Board.
  • Personal statement explaining why the applicant is pursuing pastoral ministry.
  • Copies of high school diploma and/or higher education diplomas.
  • Portuguese writing test, evaluated by the Academic Dean. Minimum passing score: 7.0.

3. Second Stage: Interviews

The dates and times for the interviews will be sent to the applicant after approval of the documents submitted to RTS in Stage 1. All communication will be conducted via email or WhatsApp.

  • Individual interview via phone or video call with the RTS Academic Dean.
  • In-person interview with the pastoral faculty of Redemption Baptist Church.

4. Admission and Start of Classes

Upon completion of the Application Process, the incoming Pastoral Course student will receive all relevant information for the beginning of the academic term.
