\u201cFor Ezra had set his heart to study the Law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach his statutes and rules in Israel.\u201d \u2013 Ezra 7:10<\/em><\/p>

The Pr. Matthew Borgstrom Award is presented to students in the Pastoral Training Program who, throughout their formation, have demonstrated excellence in theological study, integrity in Christian character, and faithful service within the life of the church.<\/p>

The inscription on the panel beside\u2014placed in the hall of the Redeemer Baptist Church\u2014is not merely a mark of past achievements, but a call to continued faithfulness. The preservation of the student\u2019s name on this roll is contingent upon their ongoing commitment to the very standards of doctrine, character, and service that merited the award.<\/p>

Why is the award named in honor of Pastor Matthew Borgstrom?<\/span><\/font><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Honoring significant figures in the history of Protestant institutions\u2014such as seminaries, schools, and publishing houses\u2014is an ancient tradition that concretely expresses gratitude to God for the way He uses His servants to build up the Kingdom through various avenues of labor.<\/p>

Pr. Matthew Borgstrom played a foundational role in the early stages of RTS\u2019 ministry: strengthening ties with brothers in the United States, teaching classes, providing resources, mobilizing people, and personally engaging in support for the pastors of Redemption Baptist Church.<\/p>

Moreover, the award seeks to recognize students who stand out for their academic excellence, holy living, and dedicated Christian service\u2014qualities that Pr. Matthew has clearly demonstrated throughout his journey as a servant of God.<\/p>

To bear his name, therefore, is a way of expressing appreciation for his willingness and labor in the cause of the Kingdom. Pr. Matthew Borgstrom\u2019s example serves as an inspiration for all STR students, vividly illustrating the kind of commitment God\u2019s servants ought to display in the service of the Master.<\/p>
